The Original List

It’s both methodical and organised, yet also chaotic and disorganised at the same time. Having a list is essential in having some remnants of a goal-setting exercise where the end goal is to have each and every item ticked off them list. Without a list we lack logic, structure and some motivation.

The list below is simply a list of activities TO-DO in no particular logical order other than I needed a list to live by and list to govern my day, week, month and year. For I already know what it is I want, however I want too much, I’m not Superman you know…

Image of ringbound notepad with pencil rested on pad which reads To Do List and 7 blank bullet points

There is nothing wrong with asking for too much of the universe as I’ve heard time and time again from scholar and speaker that you should wish and dream your desires into fruition and have the balls to work your ass off to achieve them if ever given the opportunity.

I asked myself of when I should have started my ‘Bucket List’. I realised the answer was both logical and illogical. I came up with the answer of, DAY ONE! Day one being theoretically the day you are born. Time is fundamentally finite and as such always running out, by not having goal or vision, is like a ship without navigation, we would wander aimlessly and float about.

Before you read the list, know a few things:

  • This is MY personal list of GOALS and ACHIEVEMENTS
  • As with any list this is ITERATATIVE and therefore open to REVISION
  • Some items are both fillers and also overlap with other activities, in order to succeed at one you have to tackle another; to proverbially “kill two birds with one stone”, although whilst I am personally against killing birds, the metaphor stands.
  • The names in brackets are either friends/individuals who have inspired the particular bullet point or will ideally be participating. (e.g. 6. Bungee jump – (Taz))

As soon as you have some idea of who it is you want to be and what it is you wish to do, you should make a list, along with goals/steps along the way to hit each target/milestone.

…………………………………………………

SO THAT’S THE LIST!

Crossing the finish line

More than enough to work on for a short period of time!

Item 99 to be a wildcard for activities not yet realised or invented….

If you read this list to the end, there are 2 things wrong: Firstly, you must have too much time on your hands and Secondly, you need something constructive to do with that free time. Please come up with at least 5 items for your own bucket list and see how you do…
